Our Story

WE ARE SCRUNCH! is a young and vibrant brand, who is on a mission to help females across the word be confident and expressive through affordable and bold accessories. Founded by Shan, a qualified secondary teacher who shares her passion for uplifting others through the designs she creates.

At WE ARE SCRUNCH!, we believe black female-owned business are the heart and soul of our economy, and we are truly proud to help other women of all cultures and race feel confident, and have the opportunity to be who they want to be. Through our brand we provide a variety of accessories such as scrunchies, tote bags and art prints to help you express your personality to the world.

MEET OUR FOUNDER

Where it all started

Starting from Shan's bedroom with a cheap sewing machine, a few thread, some upcycled materials and a passion for expression, WE ARE SCRUNCH! was born. We understand how important it is to feel wanted and seen.

Founded by a ethnic-minority group, having to constantly shine to be noticed can sometimes be hard and overwhelming. Shan first started to create scrunchies for herself, which helped her through her healthy hair journey, but also to allow her to stand out and express who she was in a community who did not always understand her.

She wanted to share her designs and passion to others to ensure nobody ever feels they are that "minority" and they are something special which should be seen and celebrated by others.
